Elderly Home “San Vicente de Paúl” of the city of Atuntaqui (Ecuador), older adults take medicines to treat diseases such as high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, cognitive deterioration, depression, hypothyroidism, gastritis, anemia, among others. The medical staff, because they do not keep a record of the dosage of medications in the pre-established hours, has caused delays, omissions in the same and a decline in their health status. The present research designs and develops an embedded system to control and monitor the supply of medicines through two types of notifications to the medical department: In the first instance, by sending text messages via GSM; in the absence of a response, the second notification is issued by means of a voice call to the nurse on duty in order to safeguard the adequate intake of medicine and comply fully with the treatments prescribed by the doctor and improve the quality of life of the adult higher. |

The intelligent textile is integrated in a garment type harness that is connected to a crawling knee pads containing Magnetic Reed sensors, these are responsible for detecting the magnetic tapes previously placed in sites considered dangerous. These areas are chosen by quantifying the distance of the baby relative to its crawling speed; if the infant is in a possible accident zone, the system sends alert messages via an IoT platform. As a result of the system there is an average reaction time of 7.6 seconds with an average current consumption of 90 mA every approximately 12 seconds. |
